The Leadtek WinFast PX7950 GX2 TDH is the second-cheapest GeForce 7950 GX2 on test, with a retail price under the £400 mark. The box advertises the fact that the card is HDCP-ready and also RoHS complaint.

There is even reference to the fact that the video card supports Quad SLI. Of course, Quad SLI is not officially supported by NVIDIA because the company is still working on getting the drivers ready to rock and roll. It was hinted that official Quad SLI drivers are at least a few months away when we were in Taiwan earlier this month.


There is a quick installation guide and a full user's manual included in the bundle, along with a 6-pin PCI-Express power adapter and a HDTV-Out to YPbPr Component and S-Video combination cable. Incidentally, Leadtek only includes a single DVI-to-VGA converter - an oversight on a £400 video card, in our opinion.

Of course, the video card supports a single monitor in its default operating mode, but the card has a pair of dual link DVI-I connectors on the PCI bracket. End users that own a pair of analogue monitors will have to find a second DVI-to-VGA converter if they're wanting to connect both monitors to the video card at the same time. Having said all of that, it may be that the card is supposed to come with a pair of DVI-to-VGA converters and one was just missing from the bundle - virtually every other Leadtek video card we've looked at has come with enough DVI-to-VGA converters.

Along with the cable collection, there are a couple of games, a utility CD and a bonus software pack containing PowerDVD 6 and Muvee 3. The games included are Serious Sam II and TrackMania Nations. TrackMania Nations is a free game and is available for download on the place they call the intraweb. Both games are great fun, so top marks to Leadtek for including a couple of games worth playing.

Warranty: Leadtek offers a two-year warranty covering parts and labour. As with ASUS, during the first year in the product's life, your point of contact should be the retailer. If you're having problems getting hold of the retailer, or the retailer goes out of business, you should contact Leadtek directly. During the second year of the warranty, you should talk directly with Leadtek if you are having issues with the product.
